Greater Lowell Health Alliance Awards to be given on October 6, 2010

Lowell, MA – The 2010 Greater Lowell Health Alliance Awards will be given at the inaugural GLHA annual meeting, which will be held on October 6th at the UMass Lowell Inn & Conference Center in Lowell, Massachusetts.

The GLHA is comprised of healthcare providers, business leaders, educators, civic and community leaders with a common goal to help the Greater Lowell community identify and address its health and wellness priorities. The GLHA was established in 2005, and more information about the organization and its activities can be found on its website.

Awards will be given to an individual or group of individuals in each of the following categories:

Community Catalyst Award:
This award is given to an individual member of the Greater Lowell Health Alliance for their outstanding contributions, leadership, and achievements in service to the Greater Lowell area.

Innovation Award:
This award is given to an individual or group of individuals in recognition of an accomplishment (i.e. program, activity, publication) that has made a difference in the health of the community.

Civic Excellence Award:
This award is presented to members of the community who exemplify the ideals of community service and volunteerism. Recipients are “everyday” citizens who are committed to helping others and improving the community by identifying and addressing issues of public concern.
