Legendary author Stephen King will speak to more than 3,000 UMass Lowell students, faculty and members of the public in a rare appearance. At “A Conversation with Stephen King” the writer will talk with fellow bestselling author Andre Dubus III, a UMass Lowell English professor, about his craft and career and will offer advice to fledgling writers. King will read from his work and answer questions from the audience.

The event marks the debut of the new UMass Lowell Chancellor’s Speaker Series. Ticket proceeds will go to a new scholarship fund for UMass Lowell students being endowed by King and his wife, Tabitha. At the end of the program, the two armchairs in which King and Dubus will sit during their conversation will be autographed by King and raffled off to raise additional funds for scholarships. The program is co-sponsored by the English Department.
