Author Les Leopold will speak on the topic of his new book titled “Why the Economic Crisis Is Not Going Away, The Looting of America: How Wall Street’s Game of Fantasy Finance Destroyed our Jobs, Pensions and Prosperity, and What We Can Do About It.” The book examines the cause of the Wall Street crisis and suggests solutions. Leopold co-founded and directs two non-profit educational organizations, The Labor Institute and the Public Health Institute. He designs research and educational programs on occupational safety and health, the environment and economics. He is helping to form an alliance between the United Steel Workers Union and the Sierra Club.

The talk is sponsored by the UMass Lowell Labor Extension Program and co-sponsored by the Merrimack Valley Central Labor Council and several UMass Lowell departments and centers.
