On Friday, October 7th, Furey’s Cafe, located at 51 Fletcher Street in Lowell, MA is proud to present Buffalo, NY based Americana/Folk songwriter Davey O., who will be on one of the final legs of his tour in support of his latest release “The Long Way Home”. Show begins at 8:00 PM.

Selected to perform three showcase sets at the 2011 International Folk Alliance Conference in Memphis, TN in February, Davey O., is a bit jubilant these days. His song, You Won’t Believe, was selected for inclusion on Volume 5 of the Local Music CD compiled by Buffalo radio station 107.7 FM, The Lake released in Spring of 2011.

A multiple ASCAP Plus Award recipient, 2004 WNY People’s Choice Award winner and a perennial Buffalo Music Award nominee, Davey’s music has garnered the attention of listeners around the United States, procured bookings at notable venues such as Caffe Lena (Saratoga Springs, NY), The Living Room (NYC) & Tin Angel (Philadelphia, PA), and he has opened for many notable

Folk and Americana artists including The Kennedys, Tracy Grammer, Eric Andersen, & Eilen Jewell. His music has received international radio airplay and the respect and admiration of his contemporaries. Davey has also drawn critical acclaim from publications such as Philadelphia’s Songwriter’s Monthly, where Allen Foster called his latest release, The Long Way Home, “a powerful collection of songs that stands shoulder to shoulder with the best of such writers as John Hiatt, Bruce Springsteen
and Bob Dylan.” The Long Way Home also spent several weeks in the national album charts at college radio station, WBNY, 91.3 FM, where it peaked at #25. For fans of Americana, Alt-Country and Contemporary Folk, an artist worth listening to, indeed.
