Bob Dylan concert tour set to stop in Lowell for the first time in ten years

Lowell, MA – Bob Dylan is set to make his first concert appearance in Lowell, Massachusetts since 2000 on Saturday, November 20, 2010 at UMass Lowell’s Tsongas Center.

Since Dylan’s last visit, he has embarked on a reissuing of rarities and concert materials in his Bootleg Series and has released multiple albums to critical acclaim, 2006’s Modern Times and last year’s Together Through Life. Dylan also began hosting his own radio show in 2006 on Sirius XM’s Deep Tracks station which featured Dylan showcasing a wide variety of musical selections centered around a theme that changed on a weekly basis. Dylan, despite turning 69 this year, has managed to continue touring and has played an average of around 100 shows every year since 1988.

Bob Dylan’s music on his recent albums Modern Times and Together Through Life has seemed to beckon the listener back to the roots of modern American rock music, back to the blues and country sounds of the 1950s. Dylan performs his songs with a very bluesy feel to them, a sound that complements Dylan’s gravelly vocals quite nicely. The music itself also seems to speak volumes about the age and wisdom of Dylan, the road-weary travelling musician that has been pleasing crowds and inspiring musical minds for nearly five decades.

Dylan’s concert performance can be expected to feature many of his classic songs from early in his career in the 1960s and 1970s, including favorites like “Mr. Tambourine Man”, “Blowin’ in the Wind”, and “Lay Lady Lay”, but those attending the concert should also expect to hear recent singles like “Jolene” and “Beyond Here Lies Nothin'” from 2009 album Together Through Life.

The concert begins at 8:00 PM. Tickets can be purchased at the Tsongas Center box office, any Ticketmaster outlet. Visit the Lowell, Massachusetts Bob Dylan concert page for more details.
