In an Instant art show coming to Loading Dock Gallery in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Lowell – In our mundane, day-to-day lives, art can been found in an instant if you look for it.  In an Instant, the November show at The Loading Dock Gallery in Lowell, combines the visions of painter Bill Tyers and photographer Adrien Bisson, giving us portraits of people in everyday situations and captured moments.

These paintings and photos work in harmony to deliver an experience of a moment that occurs in an instant, and is gone.  Bill Tyers describes it as “wanting to create images of people and places that hopefully will have some sort of impact on the viewer.  It’s more of being an observer.”  We all stand as observer in our own lives and the shared slice of life presented by Bill and Adrien allows us a prolonged glance, revealing hidden dimensions.  Adrien’s approach to portrait photography bears this out.  “I like to get to know my subjects before I photograph them.  It is important to me to create a portrait, a photograph that tells a story, rather than simply snap a picture.”

Adrien Bisson studied music at Berklee College of Music, and his photography is essentially self-taught.  His current body of work has been a pursuit for little over a year, having transitioned from a nature and landscape photographer to that of a portrait photographer.  “An interesting face or a fascinating personality inspires me.”  Adrien says,  “I am drawn to images with great light, shadow and texture.”

Bill Tyers has been drawing since Jon Nagy had his art show on TV.  Academically he attended Mass College of Art.  For this show his medium is oil paint, applied mostly with a palette knife.

“In an Instant” will be showing in the Loading Dock Gallery at Western Avenue Studios, 122 Western Avenue, 2nd floor of the A Mill from October 27 until November 21.  Artist Reception is Friday November 5 from 6 PM to 9 PM. Gallery hours are Wednesday through Sunday, 11am to 4:30pm.  For more information about the exhibit see or call Maxine Farkas at 978 349-8069.
