Boston Best Places to Work

LGH named one of the best places to work.

Ranked among the top 20 large businesses in Massachusetts

Lowell, Mass. – Lowell General Hospital is proud to be honored among 20 large businesses included in the Boston Business Journal’s (BBJ) Best Places to Work list. Announced in the April 30, 2010 issue of the business publication, the ranking was based upon a third-party survey of all employees regarding job satisfaction, teamwork, benefits programs, management quality, work environment and opportunities for growth, among other criteria.

“As one of the fastest growing hospitals in the state, Lowell General Hospital strives to attract top talent and provide a positive workplace culture for our staff,” said Normand E. Deschene, president and chief executive officer. “I am proud that our employees have named us as an employer of choice. As the cornerstone of our healthcare organization, employee satisfaction is a top priority at Lowell General. We believe that a happy employee, who feels empowered to do their best, provides an exceptional level of service. This makes our hospital a great place to work and an even better place to receive health care.”

The BBJ selects the top 20 employers from each large, medium and small business category. As greater Lowell’s largest private employer, with a workforce of 1,800, Lowell General Hospital qualifies as a large business.

Prior employee-related honors for Lowell General in the past twelve months include being named to the 2009 Boston Globe’s Top 100 Places to Work list and Advance for Nurses Magazine Top Three Best Hospitals for Nurses in New England for the third consecutive year.
