August 12-14, 2010 Quilt Festival in Lowell, MA.

On Thursday, August 12th, the opening of the 2010 Lowell Quilt Festival will feature an escort of the Lost Heroes Art Quilt to its place of honor in the Hall of Flags Lobby of the Lowell Memorial Auditorium. You are invited to a very special ceremony honoring our country’s heroes who have fallen in service in Iraq and Afghanistan. This massive, 5½ x 15-foot art piece is an extraordinarily moving tribute to those who have fallen in service since September 11, 2001.

Created by artist Julie Feingold, the Lost Heroes Art Quilt represents a determination that we never forget those who have made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of our country. We hope you will join us on Thursday, August 12th at 9:30 a.m. to witness the Festival’s Opening Ceremony and see the Lost Heroes Art Quilt installed in its place of honor. Then, stay on to tour the IMAGES 2010 quilt show.
