As demographics in the United States continue to shift, delivering health care that meets the needs of an increasingly diverse population is critical to eliminating health disparities, improving access to services and reducing the financial burden associated with care. Prof. Margaret Knight of UMass Lowell’s Department of Nursing will examine these issues and look at what needs to be done to recruit and retain diverse individuals in college and university health-related programs to ensure the health-care workforce represents the patient population.

The talk is part of the Lunchtime Lecture Series and is co-sponsored by the Moses Greeley Parker Lectures, Middlesex Community College, Prof. Bill Mass and the UMass Lowell Center for Arts and Ideas. The lecture is open to the public. To attend, e-mail artsandideas@uml.edu.
