Maine's quilt heritage on display at NEQM.

Now on view: beautiful and historic quilts from the Pine Tree State at the New England Quilt Museum in Lowell, Massachusetts.

Visit the NEQM at 1 PM on Saturday, July 16th for the official opening reception for Maine’s Quilt Heritage. Not only will you see these wonderful quilts, you’ll also be served that famous Maine specialty–whoopie pies! You know you want one!

Some thirty pieces from the Maine quilt documentation project dating from 1804 through 1960 are on display . Guest curated by Cyndi Black and Wendy Reed, the exhibit runs through October 16th.

Another two dozen or so quilts from the Maine Quilt Documentation Project will be featured in a special exhibit at the Maine Quilts show at the Augusta (Maine) Civic Center, July 29-31. Try to catch both exhibits to fully appreciate the glory of Maine’s hidden quilt treasures.

New England Quilt Museum is located at 18 Shattuck Street in downtown Lowell.
