Middlesex Community College’s A World of Music spring concert series concludes with
Thomas Rohde performing works for solo classical guitar at 8 p.m. Friday, May 6, in the MCC Concert Hall (Building 6) on the Bedford campus, 591 Springs Road.

Free and open to the public, the concert will feature works by Villa-Lobos, Barrios and Albéniz.

Rohde, a member of MCC’s music faculty, has performed throughout the United States, Taiwan and Brazil as a soloist and chamber musician. He earned a bachelor’s degree in guitar performance from Ithaca College and a master’s degree from the New England Conservatory of Music. Recent performances include appearances at Boston’s Museum of Fine Arts, in Charleston’s Spoletto Festival and with Miami’s New World Symphony.

The final events in this spring’s A World of Music concert series will be three MCC Student Recitals: Student Instrumentalists, MCC Percussion Ensemble & Singers will perform at 12:30 p.m. Monday, May 9, in the MCC Concert Hall on the Bedford campus; the MCC Chorus will perform at 11 a.m. Tuesday, May 10, in the MCC Concert Hall in Bedford; and the MCC Guitar Ensemble will perform at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 11, in MCC’s Federal Building Assembly Room on the Lowell campus.
