The new Middlesex College Transfer Advantage Program provides an affordable path to a baccalaureate-degree. Qualified students can complete their general education requirements at a fraction of the price of a four-year college or university. Through the Commonwealth’s MassTransfer Program, students can complete their general education coursework requirements at Middlesex and, if accepted at a Massachusetts state college or UMass campus, the entire 34-credit block is guaranteed to transfer and to apply to the transfer institution’s general-education requirements. Qualified students will also be able to enroll in Honors Courses and Learning Communities.
MCC also has developed many training programs for business, industry, government and nonprofit agencies and institutions. The college also provides a variety of cost-effective personal development opportunities on-site, on-campus and online. These courses and programs are designed to prepare employees for 21st century career paths, as well as to provide enriching learning experiences for students of all ages.
Middlesex welcomes international students. Located only 25 miles from Boston, MCC is an ideal place for students from other countries to pursue an educational experience in the United States. Each year, international students from a variety of countries join our highly diverse student body.
Middlesex Community College international students receive the advising, programs and support services they need to succeed at a U.S. college. International student advisors serve as liaisons between the students and faculty, staff, U.S. officials and foreign government agencies, as well as student sponsors.
Middlesex is also committed to broadening student perspectives of the world community. Since 1992, Middlesex has offered International Education Fellowships to China, Russia, Costa Rica, Spain, Ireland, Europe and Belize. Fellowship locations vary from year- to-year. The choice of country depends on funding, travel restrictions and availability.
MCC offers a wide variety of student programs and activities to help students with their academic studies, as well as provide opportunities for personal and social growth. Extracurricular activities include opportunities to enhance leadership skills, and participate in clubs, social and cultural organizations and student government.
Middlesex Sports Teams - basketball, bowling, ice hockey, and soccer - compete with area colleges on the Intramural level. MCC’s basketball team won the 2009 Intramural Basketball Championship, while the MCC Soccer Team won the 2007 Soccer Championship. In 2009, the ice hockey team made it to the Championship finals in their league.
