Middlesex Community College’s Summer Camps still have limited openings in several camps, running now through Aug. 19.

MCC Summer Camps provide children, ages 8 to 15, with an exciting range of unique opportunities to explore careers, gain new knowledge and skills, boost self-confidence, and have fun. Most camps run Mondays through Thursdays, 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., on the Bedford campus.

August camps with limited openings include Rocket Camp, Jewelry Making, Advanced Veterinary Training, Engineering, Web Design and MCC Children’s Theater Camp.

In Rocket Camp, kids learn all about rockets, and will build and launch their own rocket. In Jewelry Making, campers design and make creative necklaces and bracelets with wire, beads and string.

Engineering Camp will show that engineering can be fun and exciting, as campers solve problems and build simple projects using basic hand tools. Advanced Vet Training will emphasize pet nutrition and exercise, first aid, and health and safety issues. In Web Design, campers will learn to use Adobe Photoshop and Dreamweaver through tutorials and interactive exercises, and create their own web pages.

Now in its fourth year, this summer’s MCC Children’s Theater Camp will culminate in a performance of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, the fairy tale adapted from the award-winning animated film. Open to kids ages 8-15, Theater Camp runs 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., Aug. 1-19, on the Lowell campus.
