Register now for Middlesex Community College’s Nursing Assistant Training Program, which teaches students how to care for residents in long-term care facilities and hospitals.

This 100-hour course, which includes classroom theory, practice in a nursing skills lab, and 24 hours of weekend clinical training at local long-term care facilities, prepares students for an entry-level career in health care as a Nurse Assistant. The program runs Monday through Friday, July 1 to July 25, on the Lowell campus.

Students will learn a variety of skills, including, personal patient care, patient rights, lifting and turning patients, safety, infection control, taking vital signs, record keeping, mental-health care techniques, and stress management. Students who successfully complete MCC’s Nursing Assistant Training Program will be eligible to sit for the Massachusetts nurse assistant certification exam.

To enter MCC’s Nursing Assistant Training Program, students must have a high school diploma or GED, take an English assessment test, agree to a CORI/SORI background check, and be able to lift and move 50+ pounds. The cost of the course is $950 plus cost of texts and scrubs. This course is not eligible for waivers or vouchers. Seats are limited.
