United Way

Massachusetts residents who need assistance can call the United Way.

Lowell, MA – United Way of Massachusetts Bay & Merrimack Valley is working to spread the word about how to access help during the holiday season. Winter months, particularly around the holidays, can often cause undo stress on individuals and families.  Through United Way’s free and confidential hotline, Mass 2-1-1 residents can access toy drives, food and utility assistance, counseling for “the holiday blues” and other basic needs.

Residents in need are urged to dial 2-1-1 or 1-877-211-MASS for help.  2-1-1 is an easy to remember telephone number that connects callers to information about critical health and human services available in their community. In addition to streamlining all support services into one centralized phone call, 2-1-1 is:

  • Free
  • Confidential
  • Available 24 hours / 7 days a week
  • Multi-lingual
