Recently, Rob Lowe and Jennifer Garner began filming the movie “The Side of the Truth.” in Lowell, Massachusetts, bringing great excitement to downtown Lowell. Although traffic has been impacted a bit, it’s great for the city of Lowell. The film, scheduled to be released in 2009, is directed by Ricky Gervais, and according to IMDB, the plot of the movie is “a comedy set in a world where no one has ever lied, until a writer seizes the opportunity for personal gain.”

It’s been fun seeing all of the movie trucks in town, and the filming will probably have an economic impact on the city’s businesses. While it is being filmed in Lowell, the movie will not be based in Lowell, so moviegoers may not even know where the film was shot. Suffice to say, it’s very cool that the producers selected Lowell to film the movie.
