Call for entries for annual quilt exhibition at Whistler House Museum of Art
Lowell, MA. The Whistler House Museum of Art is now accepting entries for their annual juried art quilt exhibition, Quiltscapes at the Whistler. The Museum celebrates the Art Quilt with a focus on fine craftsmanship and visual design that transcends traditional patterns and functionality.
This year’s theme, Quiltscapes, is inspired by the landscape genre, including living flora and fauna, lighting and weather conditions, and human elements, such as a city or built environment. Awards will be presented at the reception for Best of Show, Juror's Choice, and the Whistler Award. Quilts entered should be a maximum of 72" in any direction.
The deadline for entries will be on May 15, 2009, and notification will be sent to all submittors by May 30, 2009. The exhibit will run from August 1 – 29, and a reception for the event will be held at the Museum on August 8, from 2 - 4 pm.
