Kerouac Park is a monument park in downtown Lowell that serves as a memorial to beat generation writer Jack Kerouac, author of five novels that were set in his hometown of Lowell. The park has granite benches for people to quietly read or relax, and there is green space – perfect for a picnic in the summer sun.

The centerpiece of Kerouac Park are tall, granite monuments that have excerpts from a variety of Jack Kerouac’s writings. In addition to the writings, thnfluence on Kerouac and his writings.

Kerouac Park was dedicated in Kerouac’s memory in 1988, and the Park earned an American Institute of Architects Citation for Excellence in Urban Design in 1990.
