Ten Lowell museums, parks, and arts facilities named great places in Massachusetts
Lowell, MA – The Massachusetts Office of Travel and Tourism and the Massachusetts Cultural Council worked together with a committee charged with compiling the nominations for “1000 Great Places in the State of Massachusetts.” Over 12,000 nominations were received, with every part of the Commonwealth being represented.
On July 12, 2010, the list of 1000 Great Places in Massachusetts was revealed at the Massachusetts State House, and the list included 10 sites in Lowell, Massachusetts. These sites were nominated by the public and the committee chose the top places based on a number of parameters.
The city of Lowell’s top places included parks, Museums, and art galleries and studios.

Regarding celebrating Lowell’s Arts community in September , , , I’m curating a show at the Brush Sept. 19-Oct. 24 with six outstanding artists titled “Children’s Book Illustrators”. The exhibiting artists, who will also have an artists talk, book signing and reception, have won all the top awards in childrens books. David Macaulay, Chris VanAllsburg, David Wiesner, Christopher Bing, Matt Tavares and Kelly Murphy are coming to show, and what a show it will be.
