Jimmy Fund and Dana Farber

Support the Boston Red Sox, Dana Farber, and the Jimmy Fund.

Dana-Farber Cancer Institute and The Jimmy Fund have once again organized the Rally Against Cancer, an excellent opportunity for Boston Red Sox fans as well as other community members to get involved with helping to support both cancer patients and cancer research. Despite the slow 0-4 start for the Red Sox, we know the team will turn it around soon, and this is our chance to show our unwavering support while helping a great cause!

The Rally Against Cancer is a fundraiser where people have the opportunity to donate five dollars or more to the Jimmy Fund. Everyone who donates is asked to wear their favorite Red Sox attire to work on April 8th, the date of the Red Sox first home game this season. The event is hosted by the Jimmy Fund, which is the main charity of the Boston Red Sox, and all funds raised will benefit the organization. The Jimmy Fund works hard to raise money to support cancer research at the Dana-Farber Cancer Institute.

People who desire to participate can register alone, which is called registering as a free agent, or join a rally group. If one joins a rally group, the chance of winning a prize will be much higher, and many fun and exciting prizes are going to be given out to winners and participants. All participants will receive special discounts from Rally Against Cancer sponsors. Other prizes, which to be given to the highest donors, include two tickets to a Boston Red Sox home game, “Rally Against Cancer” hats, and visits from Boston Red Sox spokesplayers.

There is a five dollar charge when you register with a team and people who wish to donate larger amounts of money can pay with checks. Rally Against Cancer is a fun and entertaining event that supports a good cause while also promoting a great sports team. There isn’t a better way to make a difference than to do so while also supporting and becoming involved with America’s greatest pastime.
