Dates for Blaise MacDonald’s Hockey School are set for July 26-30 and August 2-6

LOWELL, MA (May 19, 2010) – The dates for Blaise MacDonald’s Hockey School have been set for July 26-30 and August 2-6 at the Tsongas Center, as announced by the ninth-year head coach on Wednesday. The first session is for children nine and under, while the later dates are for skaters 13 and under.

The five-day sessions will offer high-level instruction from the River Hawks’ coaching staff and players focused on stick handling, passing, shooting, checking (where appropriate), and team play. Off the ice, skaters will learn basic conditioning and stretching exercise while taking part in activities like ultimate frisbee and street hockey.

In addition, one day during each session will feature video analysis as the participants will view their own performance and learn from film of the UMass Lowell team in action.

Each skater will receive a hockey school jersey, two tickets to a 2010-11 River Hawk hockey game and an invitation to the annual Holiday Skate.
