UMass Lowell Kayaking & Rowing Summer 2010 Programs
UMass Lowell is excited to team with the Merrimack River Association, Still River Outfitters, Northeast Paddlesurf, the Tsongas Industrial History Center and UMass Lowell Rowing to make Lowell the center of water sports activity in the Merrimack Valley.
The rich history and powerful presence of the Merrimack River are more accessible than ever, thanks to the new programs being offered by UMass Lowell and its beautifully restored Bellegarde Boathouse which recently underwent a one-million dollar renovation. Kayaking, canoeing, rowing, paddlesurfing, whitewater rafting, and boatbuilding are among some of the programs offered that invite the public to enjoy hte majesty of this important 100-mile long waterway first hand. There are programs for adults and children alike.
The UMass Lowell Bellegarde Boathouse not only offers the public the opportunity to experience exciting watersport activities, but also is a great venue for rentals and events including weddings, corporate events, birthday parties, and socials. From boat rentals to corporate team building on the water, there’s something for everyone.
For more information on any of these programs or rental opportunities at the UMass Lowell Bellegarde Boathouse, please visit our website at www.uml.edu/boathouse or contact Peter Murray, 978.934.2327, Peter_Murray@uml.edu
