Richard Ryan’s work, realist in style with pop elements, has been shown in solo and group exhibitions nationwide and his work is featured in collections in the Fine Arts Museums of San Francisco and the Fogg Museum of Art in Boston. The University Gallery at UMass Lowell presents a solo exhibition, curated by Assistant Prof. Stephen Mishol, of Ryan’s paintings, drawings and woodcut prints. The still life and figurative works feature highly structured compositions. The physical objects in Ryan’s work often appear suspended in time, literally and figuratively. All events are free, open to the public and handicapped-accessible.
