World Cup Soccer

World Cup soccer raffle at Pollard Memorial Library in Lowell.

The 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa is almost here (begins June 11th), and at the Pollard Memorial Library in Lowell, Massachusetts, they are celebrating soccer!

Stop by the Children’s Reference Desk at Pollard between June 7th and June 12th and fill out a special raffle ticket to be entered into their soccer ball raffle! Entrants will need to write the title of one book that was recently read and tell the Library staff two things about that book.

There will be two separate raffles: one for children ages 8 and younger, and one for kids ages 9 through 12. Younger kids can tell their grown up about their book!  One entry per child will be permitted. This is a fun way to win a new soccer ball simply by reading books and entering the raffle for free!

Winners will be drawn the week of June 14th. This program will be held at Pollard Memorial Library, 401 Merrimack St, Lowell, MA 01852. For more information, visit or call the library’s Youth Services Department at 978-970-4122.
